Great writeup - I didn't realize Pujols was in it that much! Very cool.

Also, I was at that 1990 Home Run Derby at Wrigley Field, where Griffey Jr. hit 0 homers (in his defense, there were only five TOTAL home runs hit during the entire derby, and three were by the hometown winner Ryne Sandberg). I found this writeup about it on CBS, which just craps all over it, obviously written by a guy that wasn't there.

Yes, not a lot of homers, but it was far from boring. Chicago's own Bill Murray emceed it, and it was one of the most fun baseball events ever. (Sure, without him there, it would've been rough, but still...) It was a day at Wrigley, with Bill Murray at his best, watching future 1990 MVP Ryne Sandberg win one for the home crowd, with Griffey Jr. in the house!

Side note: During the previous weekend, I went to old Comiskey Park with my girlfriend to watch the Orioles-White Sox. We sat in right field, and got introduced to Sammy Soooooooooooooosa every half-inning. We loved how the announcer drew out his name whenever he said it. Fun week of baseball!

Great writeup, thanks!
