Paul Konerko is synonymous with the White Sox, but he homered for two other big-league clubs during his career.
Did you know that Paul Konerko didn’t spend his entire big-league career on the South Side? If I never looked at his Baseball-Reference page, I might’ve never known.
Konerko’s 2 Cups of Coffee Before Joining the White Sox
Konerko is synonymous with the Chicago White Sox. It surprised me upon first realizing he played for two other teams in the big leagues before being in Chicago for the final 16 years of his career.
He slugged four homers in 55 games for the Dodgers and another three dingers for the Reds in 26 games between 1997 and 1998. He then slugged 432 taters across 2,268 games for the White Sox.

Nope, didn’t know that
Konerko was a home run hitter first and foremost. 18 seasons totaling a 28.1 bWAR despite batting .279, 439 HRs and 118 OPS+. He was a below average fielder at 1B which did not help his HOF resume. Fun player to watch hit. Almost HOF guy for sure.
