Monday, 9/16
9/16/2007: Jim Thome became the third player to reach the 500-homer club during the 2007 season. He made it count by hitting a walk-off home run.
9/16/1997: Larry Walker and Andres Galarraga go back-to-back for the Rockies.
9/16/2006: Chone Figgins hits for the cycle with the Angels.
Tuesday, 9/17
9/17/1984: On the 17th anniversary of hitting his first career MLB home run, Reggie Jackson entered the 500-homer club.
9/17/1997: Barry Bonds twirled out of the batter’s box to celebrate a home run.
9/17/2010: Jose Bautista’s 48th home run set a new Blue Jays single-season record.
Wednesday, 9/18
9/18/2006: The Dodgers hit four straight homers to tie things up in the ninth inning. Jeff Kent, J.D. Drew, Russell Martin, and Marlon Anderson all went deep, and then Nomar Garciaparra hit a walk-off homer in the 10th to beat the Padres.
9/18/2007: Todd Helton’s walk-off home run secured a sweep of the Dodgers for the Rockies.
9/18/1999: Rey Ordóñez hit his first career grand slam.
Thursday, 9/19
9/19/2021: Juan Soto sent a baseball into orbit against the Rockies. It traveled 454 feet. His last full season in Washington resulted in 29 homers, 95 RBI, and a .999 OPS.
9/19/1998: A-Rod’s 40th home run of the year helped him officially join the 40-40 club.
9/19/2003: Jason Bay enjoyed a two-homer, eight-RBI day for the Pirates.

9/20/2019: Pete Alonso became the first Mets hitter to reach the 50-homer plateau with this oppo-taco shot.
9/20/2001: Barry Bonds hit the 64th home run of his record-breaking season.
9/20/2016: Trey Mancini hit his first career home run.
Saturday, 9/21
9/21/2001: In their first game back after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Mike Piazza made Shea Stadium shake with this go-ahead home run.
9/21/2006: David Ortiz set a new single-season Red Sox record with his 51st home run.
9/21/2013: Raúl Ibañez hit his 300th career home run.

9/22/1969: Willie Mays became just the second player in MLB history with 600-plus homers. There are now nine members of this exclusive club.
9/22/1996: Barry Larkin’s 30th homer helped him become the first shortstop to record a 30-30 season.
9/22/2003: Magglio Ordóñez beat the Yankees with a three-run walk-off homer.
