3/9/2013: David Wright hit an “International Salami” for Team USA during the WBC.
7/7/1996: Mo Vaughn finished his swing in the right-handed batter’s box, and the ball finished its journey on Eutaw Street at Camden Yards.
9/12/2015: Jose Bautista enjoyed a two-homer day at Yankee Stadium. He’d eventually finish the year with 40 homers and 114 RBI.
Tuesday, 3/18
10/9/1971: Frank Robinson got the Orioles on the board in Game 1 of the World Series with this solo home run.
3/11/2017: Nelson Cruz gave the Dominican Republic a late lead over Team USA in the WBC with this three-run blast.
10/11/1983: Joe Morgan tied up Game 1 of the World Series for the Phillies with this sixth-inning dinger.
Wednesday, 3/19
7/22/2004: The Yankees and Blue Jays were on the verge of heading into extra innings locked in a scoreless tie until Ruben Sierra took matters into his own hands.
7/27/2014: David Ortiz gave the Red Sox a 3-0 lead thanks to blasting this home run against the Rays. He finished the year with 35 homers and 104 RBI.
10/10/1996: Gary Gaetti blew open Game 2 of the NLDS with this grand slam off Greg Maddux.
Thursday, 3/20
9/18/2008: Down three runs with two outs in the ninth, Geovany Soto tied things up at Wrigley with this home run. The Cubs eventually won in 12 innings.
10/4/1995: Paul O’Neill tied up Game 2 of the ALDS with this home run at Yankee Stadium.
9/30/2008: Jim Thome gave the White Sox a lead in Game 163 with a solo blast.
Friday, 3/21
8/18/2013: Miguel Cabrera slugged his 40th homer of the year, reaching that mark for the second straight season.
6/4/2000: In an 18-2 beatdown of the A’s, Jeff Kent homered twice for the Giants. He finished the year with 33 homers, 125 RBI, and the NL MVP Award.
5/26/2013: Nick Swisher extended Cleveland’s lead to 4-1 in Boston after putting one over the Green Monster.
Saturday, 3/22
8/19/1992: Edgar Martinez hit his first career grand slam in the big leagues, and Orioles pitcher Todd Frohwirth was ejected shortly after taking issue with the strike zone.
10/14/1975: Dwight Evans tied up World Series Game 3 in the ninth inning with this two-run homer for the Red Sox. Cincinnati would eventually win in 10 innings.
7/30/2011: Matt Kemp slugged this two-run homer for the Dodgers. He’d finish the year with a league-leading 39 homers and 126 RBI, along with 40 steals while placing 2nd in NL MVP Award voting.
Sunday, 3/23
8/27/2014: Jorge Soler wasted no time in his MLB debut with the Cubs, blasting a home run in his first career at-bat.
6/9/2013: This three-run homer from Adam Lind extended the Blue Jays’ lead to 4-0 in the third inning. The Rangers would end up coming back to beat Toronto, 6-4.
6/9/2009: Ryan Church showed off his impeccable aim by hitting a ball right into the well of the Home Run Apple at Citi Field.
