Monday, 7/29
7/29/2003: Bill Mueller homered from both sides of the plate for the Red Sox. He drove in nine runs overall because both homers were grand slams.
7/29/2004: Eric Valent hit for the cycle in Montreal against the Expos.
7/29/2014: Manny Machado hit a walk-off homer for the Orioles.
Tuesday, 7/30
7/30/2011: Matt Kemp slugged this two-run homer for the Dodgers. He’d finish with a league-leading 39 homers and 126 RBI, along with 40 steals while placing second in NL MVP Award voting.
7/30/2016: Mitch Moreland visited the upper deck to walk things off for the Rangers.
7/30/2015: Justin Upton helped the Padres storm back from a 7-1 deficit.
Wednesday, 7/31
7/31/1998: Albert Belle capped off an absurd July by hitting his 16th home run. He’d finish the year with 49 dingers and 152 RBI.
7/31/2010: Carlos Gonzalez completed the cycle by hitting a walk-off home run.
7/31/2007: Geoff Jenkins sent the Brewers home happy with this absolute missile.
Thursday, 8/1
8/1/2000: Mike Cameron ended a 19-inning marathon against the Red Sox with this walk-off home run for the Mariners.
8/1/2006: Carlos Guillen became the 10th player in Tigers history to hit for the cycle.
8/1/2009: Mark Reynolds hit a long home run at Citi Field.
Friday, 8/2
8/2/2008: Manny Ramirez hit his first home run for the Dodgers. He’d slug 17 homers with 53 RBI in 53 games down the stretch for LA.
8/2/2003: Albert Pujols hit his 30th home run of the season for the Cardinals.
8/2/2009: The Melk Man delivered the first Yankees cycle since 1995.
Saturday, 8/3
8/3/2012: It was a big day in the Upton household. Both Justin and B.J. hit the 100th home run of their respective MLB careers. And they did it just minutes apart.
8/3/2011: Jacoby Ellsbury was the walk-off hero for the Red Sox for the second straight day.
8/3/2015: Mike Hessman became the all-time Minor League Baseball home run king.
Sunday, 8/4
8/4/2007: Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron at the top of the all-time home run leaderboard with no. 755 at Petco Park in San Diego.
8/4/2007: Alex Rodriguez joined the 500-homer club.
8/4/2016: Carlos Santana blasted a baseball to the street for Cleveland.
Did You Know…
The Toronto Blue Jays hold the MLB record for hitting the most home runs in one game. They slugged 10 dingers on September 14, 1987.
