13 Longest Home Runs of the 2024 MLB Season
This season featured plenty of tanks, but these sailed a little further than the rest.
The 2024 MLB season is officially in the books, folks. We now turn our attention to the Hot Stove and how teams will improve themselves or not for 2025 (looking at you, White Sox and A’s). However, nothing can replace the joy of actual baseball being played in big-league parks.
That’s part of the reason why I keep sharing home run videos throughout the offseason. Watching highlights is something I do to pass the time until pitchers and catchers report in February, so why not spread the love?
But, I digress. I’ll be breaking down 2024 home runs in a few different ways throughout the coming weeks. First up is one of my favorite topics: the longest homers of the year.
A few notes before we dive in:
There were 32 instances in which a ball traveled at least 460 feet this season.
Of those 32 instances, 13 went 470-plus feet (which you’ll see below).
Aaron Judge slugged five homers 460-plus feet, while Shohei Ohtani did it three times.
While it’s not shown below, Yordan Alvarez hit two homers exactly 461 feet…in the same game!
According to Statcast’s Park Factors, Great American Ball Park was the easiest place to hit a homer in 2024. It’s been that way for a few years.
All 13 of the 470-plus foot homers are listed below. If you’d like to see every dinger that went at least 460 feet, head over to the blog to see the continuation of this list.
